In town for a concert and were looking for something new/different and Papyrus ticked both boxes. We had their family style sharing plates, kinda like a tasting menu that allowed us to try a little bit of everything. It was all incredible… hard to pick a favourite but you don’t want to sleep on their lentil humus or the Dokka when getting started and if you only have room for one thing , try the Koshari, you won’t be disappointed.. on yeah and the pickles are the perfect pallet cleanser. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable, explained how to properly enjoy each portion of the meal. Portions in the sharing don’t look huge, but are very filling.

First time trying Papyrus. The service was great and the food was delicious. We had BIG EYE and over ordered but it was all worth it. There were 3 of us for dinner. We ordered a Sharing Meal for 2, plus a Mixed Hawawshi Plate, 3 desserts and 2 drinks. We ended up having to take some of the food home as there was no way we could finish everything. Our favourite items were: the Dokka, Hummus, Cucumber Pickles & Bissara, the Koshari, the Tameya, and the Bassbousa. Can’t wait to go back again.

My friends and I went here for summerlicious and the prix fixe menu was pretty good. I ordered the Egyptian burger which was delicious but also got to try the koshary and falafel. The service was really good. Our waiter was nice, explained every course to us when he served it and made a recommendation on how to eat it (like mix this sauce with that etc). The food was good, everyone especially liked the dessert. There was a live band outside the restaurant too which was nice.

Best meal I’ve had in a while. The food was extremely flavourful and the owner of the restaurant was extremely lovely. His love and joy for food was evident and I really appreciated that he explained every dish so I could assess which ones I wanted to try! We got the ful sharing plate, the classic koshari plate, and both ice teas (both were superb). Everything was 5/5 and we will def be back!

Went for a friend’s birthday. Chill, street-food-style spot with a few tables — more of a casual eatery than a full-on restaurant, although they offer course meal options. The Tameya (falafel) was crispy and flavourful. The Beef Hawawshi was juicy, though the bread was a bit too soft and soggy for me. The tahini and sauces were excellent. Simple menu, fair prices, and friendly service overall — though for a birthday table, you’d expect a bit more attention. As a meat lover, I wish there were more options, but overall, a solid choice for casual Middle Eastern food.
