3 weeks agoI went to have dinner at Pai Restaurant on a Tuesday. Even though it was Tuesday, I never expected there to be so many people, every table was full. But luckily, I got a table right away without having to wait long. This was my first time dining at this restaurant. I ordered sai ua(grilled pork sausage from northern Thailand) as a starter, which happened to be my favorite dish that day. The flavor was well-balanced and not overly salty. For the main course, I ordered crispy pork basil stir-fry and Pad Thai. My partner really loves Pad Thai and thought the overall flavor was excellent. Regarding the basil dish, I ordered the crispy pork version, thinking I’d only get crispy pork, but it turned out I received both crispy pork and minced pork. Personally, I prefer having either crispy pork or minced pork alone, but having both wasn’t bad at all. Overall, the taste was delicious, moderately spicy, and not too sweet. In summary, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and the taste of the food.

3 months agoI had the pleasure of dining at a Thai restaurant that came highly recommended by a friend and was Michelin-recommended. She advised me to make a reservation to avoid a potential lineup. As it turned out, I arrived early and was able to avoid the wait. Our meal consisted of a beer, appetizer, and entrees, all of which were outstanding. We selected the platter, which featured shrimp and onions wrapped in leaves with a variety of seasonings, including pepper and shrimp powder. The dish was incredibly flavorful. Our curry with chicken was served with rice wrapped in leaves to keep it warm, which I thought was thoughtful. Additionally, we tried the pork rib in tomato sauce, which was tender and flavorful. The entire dinner was exceptional, and unfortunately, we were too full to try the coconut ice cream, which we look forward to sampling on our next visit. The servers were very friendly and explained each dish to us every time they brought one over, asking if we had ever tried it and explaining how to eat it. The only thing I did not like was the guy who arranged and coordinated the tables; he kept asking us if we needed to order anything or if we were okay getting desserts, or if we were not getting anything. I felt he was rushing us so he could get the table for someone else. Overall the dining experience was really good, we really enjoyed it.

4 weeks agoPai Toronto is hands down one of the best Thai spots in the city! The atmosphere is lively, the food is authentic, and the service is great even when it’s packed. I tried their signature Khao Soi, a rich aromatic coconut curry noodle dish and many more that was absolutely bursting with flavours. If you love Thai food. This place is a must visit! 🍜

2 weeks agoLet me start by saying the service is extremely well, Jonathan was really quick, he suggested what we liked and altered our order accordingly to not double order from the same food, it’s a decent nice place to try, would I be craving for it? No, would I specifically come to this okave when and if we are back in Toronto? No. It’s supposed to be 3 stars ⭐️ but for Jonathan and the service , which I will give 5/5 I altered the whole experience and food to 4. But if we talk only food, it will be 3. But , as an experience and first time, not disappointing, prices are not cheap for being Thai food. Have in mind after after 4-5pm there’s a huge lineup.

a week agoCame here wanting to try the Pad See Ew based on a friend’s recommendation, but the staff told me it was out of stock and suggested the Pad Thai instead. Unfortunately, the Pad Thai had a strange sweet and sour flavor that I didn’t really enjoy. However, the PAD GRA PROW was delicious – highly recommended! I chose medium spicy, but it wasn’t very spicy at all – if you like spicy food, go for the highest level. Thai milk tea was way too sweet with a heavy milky taste, not the refreshing kind I expected. The interior design of the restaurant is really unique and interesting.
