LA Fitness – Danforth Avenue

I go to this gym because it is one of the only ones in the area however it is beyond filthy and unhygenic. I wonder if they have cleaning staff or not as I go daily and see the same clumps of hair on shower walls and floors, filthy floors, broken clogged showers, dirty sinks, etc day after day. Truly seems like there is zero cleaning done. Lockers are filled with dirt and hair. Women's sauna is dirty and all lights are burnt out. Women's workout room has zero ventilation. Machines are used as coat racks. There is often no spray to wipe down machines as there is 1-2 for the whole gym and at times people move them. Front desk staff are kind but management needs to recognize the pure filth of this gym. Don Mills location is way busier and yet MUCH cleaner.

I had an excellent experience signing up for the gym, all thanks to Zhalla! From the moment I walked in, she was incredibly welcoming and made the entire process smooth and easy. She took the time to explain all the membership options, answered all my questions, and even gave me a tour of the facilities. I really appreciated her professionalism and friendly attitude. If you're thinking of joining, I highly recommend reaching out to Zhalla – she makes everything so much easier!

Wow, I don't know what to say. The public washrooms on the beach have higher standards then this place. Def the filthiest gym in the city. The Mgr couldn't care less about the total lack of cleanliness. There are no professional or commercial cleaners, just one young guy on the rare occasion, emptying the garbage bins. No vacuuming, no sanitizing equipment, so cleaning bathrooms or sauna. Third world standards. Any positive reviews are likely friends or employees. They never answer the phone, rarely anyone at the desk and if they're there, everyone's on screen, ignoring members. The women's private workout space is appalling. Stuffy, smelly, dirty. Lousy equipment. No mats. No proper hand weights. A couple of ppl talking on the phone or playing videos without earbuds, for everyone to hear. No etiquette or respect for others. In the open gym, carpet is torn up in areas, guys pacing and talking loud, girls filming dance videos in the women's private space... I could go on and on. Do yourself a favor and invest somewhere else. This place is a complete disaster.

This gym (Danforth location) is the WORST gym ever! The staff here does absolutely nothing!! The place is dirty and the staff never tells people that they need to follow the rules! All they do is sit at their desk and have a party laughing and have their faces on their phones! Nobody greets you and nobody checks to make sure you swipe in as a member! There's people walking in and just walk by the front desk. The project manager is the worse! She NEVER looks up to greet you she has her face in her phone constantly! No one walks around the gym to make sure everyone is following rules. Weights are ALL over the place and you have to go looking for the ones you want! I guess that's what happens when you hire kids to do the job. I have been going to this gym for 3 years and this staff is by far the worse that has been hired. The women's washroom is disgusting! There is no one to clean it. They never hired a women for the job! This gym use to be a nice gym but the staff there does not care! Alot of people have quit because they're just disgusted with the way this gym is run. Well, it's 2024 and nothing has changed if anything it's dirtier than ever!! Staff does nothing here!! There's been a huge staff turnover and they aren't any better!! Still no yoga mats!! They said they were ordered over 6 mths ago but still nothing!! August 23,2024 The new pics are of the mess of weights left in the women's gym! Sad to say things are worse than ever!! None of the staff cares. You never see anyone walking around the gym to clean up the mess of weights left all over the place! They're just there to collect a paycheck! There hasn't been a GM that did their job!! Honestly it's 2025 and no changes in the filth of this gym! They just care about getting new members!

Again. Now april 2025, and womena gym is way too hot about 6 degrees warmer than main gym! Cleaning is non existent !!! Seriousky have the cleaners actually wash yhe treadmills with water and soap! They do bare min and pick up garbage. Dont even take significant dust off machines. It's beyond gross and unhealthy. Where is the mgt of this location??????? Past review from Nov 2024- nothing changes, 6mths since my last review and mgt doesnt seem to care or see obvious dirt and grime . See attached pics and take some pride in your work cleaners!!! Seriously this is the grossest gym ive been to in 20yrs. Past review below . The cleanliness of this gym is absolutely disgusting . Managers do not care and do not respond to complaints to have basic cleaning done of machines. You are forced as a paying member to clean your own Machines or be grossed out entirely. The cleaners are a joke and their idea of wiping a treadmill is to only wipe tbe black front and nothing else! I have video of it . They have been told over and over and nothing changes . Mgrs change frequently and head office of LA fitness does nothing. Take some ownership and accountability.did u learn nothing from covid. Fire your cleaners or train them properly. If I could give 0 I would.
