a month agoI absolutely love the atmosphere here, it's live and energetic. The food is so delicious and very well presented. This place is great for date nights or any night for that fact. Prices are a touch high but well worth it for the quality and service. The kitchen staff are very friendly too. We had the Takowasabi, Salmon tataki, Veg miso, Ebimayo, Unagi bimbimbap, Marinated jelly fish, Jap pancake, Miso short rib, and the Salmon fish and chips. What a great night. I would definitely come again if I ever visit Toronto again. I’m from the West Coast. I recommend this place to anyone who loves izakya. Awsome izakaya place!

a month agoPopular izakaya in Toronto—worth making a reservation! It was my first visit, and my friend and I ordered lots of food and drinks. The happy hour menu offers great value and lets you try a variety of small plates. The sushi was tasty, especially the shrimp and eel, though the rice fell apart a bit. Truffle fries had the biggest portion, and the beef udon was super chewy and flavorful. The Brussels sprouts were a surprising standout!!! So delicious! It’s a bit noisy and the table space is limited, but overall we had a great experience and would definitely come back.

a week agoThis Kinka Izakaya is the original location and my first time visiting. This restaurant blew me away with how delicious, authentic and varied their Japanese dishes were! The restaurant itself is sleek in Japanese design, with dark wood and metal furnishings. The staff and service are second-to-none! Our lovely waitress was prompt, kind, and so attentive! She would clear a plate as soon as we were done. The food here was amazing! We got a variety of dishes. I got their Assorted Sashimi plate, Takoyaki, and a Neko Damashi Mocktail. The mocktail came in the cutest cat mug! The sashimi was some of the freshest I’ve ever had, with scallops, yellowtail and salmon. The Takoyaki was flavourful and fluffy. My fiancé got their Curry Cheese Bibimbap, and the Tokyo Truffle Fries. The Bibimbap was so rich and luscious, and the truffle fries were so flavourful! They came with a teriyaki dip and were absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere here is pretty popping, with sake bombs and birthday celebrations galore. It can get very loud, so don’t be surprised if you have to yell to talk! Their outdoor patio is a quieter option if you request it. I would also recommend getting a reservation if you have a larger group. I will definitely be returning for more. The food and service were all outstanding. There’s so many more dishes I’d like to try!
