Insomnia Restaurant & Lounge, located at 563 Bloor St W in Toronto, is a beloved spot in the Annex neighborhood, renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse menu. Initially starting as an internet café, Insomnia has evolved into a full-fledged restaurant and lounge that caters to a wide range of patrons, from daytime visitors enjoying a cozy brunch to nighttime crowds drawn by live DJs and a well-stocked bar.
The menu at Insomnia features an eclectic mix of comfort foods with a touch of sophistication. Popular brunch items include the Citrus Spiked French Toast and Huevos Rancheros, while the dinner menu offers dishes like Chicken Alfredo and various gourmet pizzas. a month agoDid not enjoy brunch here. Got the Memphis Benedict (pulled pork) and Chicken waffles. The chicken-waffles had a LOT of chicken, which was nice. Sadly, the entire dish was slathered with syrup, which made the dish sickly sweet. Additionally, it caused the waffles to get super soggy. I really wish they gave the syrup on the side so one can choose the amount they’d want on top. The dish also needs something to cut the sweetness- the slaw on the side is a decent idea, but that too was floating in the syrup and thus just sweet. The Benedict itself was nice, especially the pulled pork. I didn’t enjoy the potatoes on the side though. Although the server mentioned that potatoes come covered in a “special” sauce, it once again was too sweet - ketchup + BBQ sauce. I don’t think I was able to eat more than a couple of pieces sadly. Huge portions, but unbalanced plates in terms of flavour profile. Wouldn’t go back EDIT- they reached out and showed good customer service

a week agothis is one of my favourite brunch spots nice ambiance great service nice full plates. Good portions parking is a little bit difficult their street parking and lot parking. Best thing is to do is to just walk over. Take the transit and or Uber again another great spot in Toronto for a brunch. I must go to if you haven’t before make a reservation if possible, just to avoid disappointment and lineups.

a week agoHave been going to insomnia for many years always a great vibe and great place to go. Drinks are always done right and a great choice of cocktails. Food has always been on point new menu since November the cob salad was terrific and the insomnia burger was delicious. Mac and cheese was good not great and the spicy bok Choi was good. Would highly recommend visiting if you are from Toronto or just visiting.

3 months agoHonestly worth the wait. Came here Sunday 12pm , probably the busiest time. Food took about 40min.. the Fried Chicken with Waffles was great, good portion and tasty. But will give extra points to the Egg Benedict , we chose the one with pulled pork. It was amazing, probably the best Benedict ive had 🏻 And the service was lovely!
