I am writing this review out of extreme disappointment with HealthOne Medical Clinic Harbourfront. My experience as a potential new walk-in patient was so poor that I will not be seeking care there at all. I successfully booked an appointment online to see a specialist for a health concern. I cleared my schedule, arranged time off work, and was prepared for my visit. The next day, I received a voicemail from the clinic informing me that my appointment was cancelled. The reason given was the most insulting part: the representative stated they needed to "accommodate old patients and families," directly implying that my needs as a new patient were less important. This lack of empathy and unprofessional verbiage is shocking. If a time slot is reserved for existing patients, it should not be available for new patients to book. This is a fundamental failure in their scheduling system and basic respect for people's time. When I tried to call back to reschedule or seek clarification, my call went unanswered. The voicemail greeting explicitly states not to leave a message as it is "not monitored," instructing you to email instead. For time-sensitive health matters, this is completely unacceptable. A patient should be able to speak to a human being. This entire experience demonstrates (to me) a clinic that is disorganized and operates with a blatant disregard for its patients. They view appointments as whims they can cancel without consequence, showing no consideration for the personal and professional sacrifices people make to be there. My advice to anyone considering Healthone: look elsewhere. If this is how they treat you before you're even a patient, I dread to think how you'll be treated once you are. Save yourself the time and frustration.

I wanted to take a moment to share my recent experience at the walk-in clinic, which was overwhelmingly positive. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The doctor at the walk-in clinic was equally impressive, asking me all sorts of questions to ensure he fully understood my concerns. Their attentive and caring approach made me truly valued as a patient. Lastly, I must commend the staff at Lifelab, who were helpful and efficient throughout my visit.

Dr. Kara—let me start by saying what a kind soul she is and how incredibly lucky I am to have her as my family doctor. Every visit feels more like seeing a friend than a formal doctor’s appointment. She genuinely cares, and that warmth is rare. The office staff is also exceptionally kind and patient. I’ll admit, I tend to ask about wait times a lot due to past experiences (not with HealthOne), which have left me a bit anxious. Despite this, they never make me feel bad for checking. And honestly, Dr. Kara taking her time with each patient instead of rushing people through is a breath of fresh air.

I had a great experience with dental hygienist Sheena. She was incredibly careful and meticulous throughout the cleaning and whitening, and everything was done thoroughly and comfortably. I appreciated the helpful advice she gave on daily habits to maintain good oral health.

My review is based solely on my experience with Dr. Jaspreet Khun. I didn't get to interact with any other doctor. She seemed cold and dismissive of my concerns and only gave short and dry responses to questions. She even refused an ultrasound for me (which another doctor readily recommended herself without being prompted by me). Her overall manner of conduct was condescending. She straight up tried to put me on birth control for menstrual cramps without exploring any other options for treating the root cause. (The fact that women's healthcare options are still in the stone age in 2025 is a separate topic but I am sick of doctors just trying to shove BC pills down my throat.) She even asked "so what resolution were you expecting?" when I expressed disappointment in the solution. Well, ma'am, how about better healthcare and putting in the effort to identify the root causes of problems? FYI, the other doctor at another clinic who asked me to get an ultrasound found FIBROIDS in my uterus ( these are majorly responsible for the severe cramps I endure every month), which would have been undetected had I blindly followed Dr. Khun's lazy and neglectful "advice". (At least thanks to the other doctor I know that the next step is to get treated for fibroids.) She was in a constant rush to leave and didn't seem interested in actually helping patients. If I am entitled to 15 minutes for a doctor's appointment, why is her royal highness so restless to leave within 2 minutes? I fail to understand why she was acting like she is bestowing some privilege upon me by being present in the room. Breadcrumbing in dating is one thing but do I have to deal with this nonsense while trying to access healthcare too? Will never approach Dr. Khun again. :) *Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the nurse and some receptionists were nice.
