a week agoThe aburi sushi was such a rip off. Some of the salmon and shrimp were paper thin and didn't even cover the whole piece of sushi. I didn't move any fish, I scraped the sauce to show that there was no fish underneath some of the sauce. I asked the server who asked the sushi chef who said that's just how they make it, and that they will take my feedback to improve for the future. About 5-10 min later, not sure if it's because they saw me take pics and write on my phone, but they came back offering me 15% off my bill. Nice gesture but not enough for me to recommend this place or ever return.

in the last weekI always get the salmon lover dinner when eating here and it never disappoints. Absolute 10/10. The sashimi is always tender and soft. Had a taste of the nigiri sushi too and that was pretty tasty as well. Definitely a go to spot.

3 months agoHighly Recommended! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 Guys, I highly recommend this restaurant! Believe it or not, their sushi rolls are absolutely perfect — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Honestly, I’ve never had an experience like this before in town. We’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes from their menu. Thank you for this amazing experience! 👌

5 months agoOverall the food was nice and service was attentive Gyoza - not bad but not great. Not sure what about it made it lacklustre but perhaps it was the dumpling wrapper or the flavour. It wasn’t as good as I’ve had elsewhere. Beef Tataki & tuna avocado - pretty good, would order again. Tempura - loved! Super crispy. We tried both the assorted tempura and the shrimp tempura. Nigiri Sushi Dinner - The dish was beautifully presented, fish tasted fresh and loved that the server told us what each piece was. This came with a small side salad and miso soup. Lots of options to try. Worth a visit!

a month agoWe tried Gurume Sushi for the first time last night. The restaurant's interior deco. is very nicely decorated Japanese-style--nicer than some higher-end sushi restaurants. It was a pleasure just to walk in and look around the place. The service was good also. Our waitress was very polite and attentive. Regarding the food, I was impressed with how much meat was atop the Uragi Donburi. Actually very impressed! At $27 though, I can't say it was a 'great' value but, having said that, they didn't skimp and it was delicious! The other item we ordered, the Sashimi Dinner, was also nice and fresh (although the texture indicated it was frozen/thawed), with a good variety of sushi, all of which I liked, which is weird because on combo sushi platters at other places I've tried, there's almost always a less expensive variety of fish (or two) that I really don't care for. Not here. Everything tasted great! Overall, I was fairly impressed with this sushi restaurant. It was a little pricey imho. Not sure if I'll return considering the bill came to $73.58 (13% tax and 13% tip in) for two people/two dishes, as we were still a bit hungry afterwards.
