My time at EHN Bellwood Toronto was so worth it! The staff was so helpful and caring. The meals 3 times a day , plus snacks were good. During my stay I learned ways to cope with my OCD and with excellent support was able to challenge and change some of my behaviors. Family involvement through virtual sessions was also beneficial. I have benefited from this place , because I came back to living with a scheduled routine and doing things to keep my mental health good. I also have made friends that help me in the ongoing fight. I really recommend this place .

Attended Bellwood, with also completing the program has helped me grow, mentally, emotionally and physically as well as spiritually. They teach you a lot about addiction, the science behind it. Learn to deal with our inner child, it was definitely worth learning. Learning to be myself again. To be the person I want to be, (without the use of alcohol) I am still learning, I have slipped in the past but I don’t stay there very long. I get back into the habit of reaching out for help. I appreciate how good support system I created after leaving Bellwood (family friends, my Bellwood family) I wouldnt have been able to do it on my own to help myself, fixed relationships I ruined with loved ones, my kids having their mommy back. I got my life back thanks to all the staff and the support & personal councillors. You guys are truly a blessing and I wishing you many blessings. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ❤️

I really got a lot out of my seven weeks at Bellwood in the late summer/early fall of 2024. It was my third treatment centre experience, but the first with Bellwood. From my first desperate phone call to admission was only about 48 hours. I was able to address not only my addiction and mental health issues (anxiety and depression) but also their root causes, with the help of my excellent primary counsellor (Marisa). There was great class content led by excellent facilitators (Edward, Sarah Jane and Gillian among others) and support staff who were available 24/7. I felt like I was cared for with kindness and understanding. Bellwood strongly promotes and fosters a deep sense of community (because the opposite of addiction is not sobriety but connection!). They were also very accessible at a personal/individual level in spite of the large cohort (around 65 people in various programs). The building itself (rooms and classrooms) had a couple of small maintenance issues (for instance, the shower in my room needed some caulking) but they were attended to immediately. Bellwood provided on the whole a clean, safe and comfortable environment in a beautiful setting. There was one security issue during my stay but it was addressed and remediated quickly. There were also a few scheduling snafus. Overall though, it was a very positive, life-changing experience. This was my longest stay in treatment (seven weeks). Some days seemed long but the weeks flew by. The food was healthy, fresh and delicious, served cheerfully every day. I also had ample and productive time with empathic and professional doctors and nurses who listened and cared. I was able to meet with a psychologist shortly after admission which went a long way to assuage my mental health concerns. If you're reading this and struggling with your mental health or addiction(s), first, know that you're not alone. Second, give Bellwood some serious thought. It's a scary step to take, but it's the first in a beautiful journey of healing and self-discovery. You'll be glad you took it. Things get better!

I just graduated from the 50 day CORE (addiction) program at EHN Bellwood Toronto (Bellwood) and the experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. This facility is undergoing administration changes resulting in modifications to the rules clients must abide by. These include issues such as personal items allowed on site, visitor guidelines, and access to devices. All of which changed during my stay at Bellwood. The issue is not so much with the rule changes themselves or whether they improve the facility, but the fact that they were poorly conceived and communicated both from admin to staff and from staff to clients. This created an environment where rule changes seemed to be an almost daily event. And even after a 90 minute session clarifying the 12 page updated set of rules (which consumed 90 minutes of class time) new rules were still being introduced days later. This had the following detrimental impact on my stay at Bellwood: 1. Frequent rule changes prevented any sense of routine at the facility, where routine is one of the core values lauded by Bellwood. 2. Frequent changes in the rules also created discontent within the client community, creating a distraction from the work of addiction recovery. 3. Distractions were not just limited to client discontent but also unnecessarily consumed class time. 4. Agreements signed upon entry to the facility were not honored by Bellwood. If the rules changes were not deemed acceptable the only choice was to request a discharge. A step more than a few clients chose during my time there. I very much hope that the administration of this facility takes notice of the sabotage they are creating and make efforts to both understand their impact and lessen it while getting back to the job of improving peoples lives. With that said I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff who are working under very trying times during this transition.

It was not a great experience, the place has gone down hill. I've been to a few rehabs and this one is now the worst I have been to. Mismanagement and no care from management to follow through and hear my suggestions since I had been there before and seen the decline. I asked many times but it never happened. It feels like it's just a paycheck to them, PCs are the best part about the place. Staff on phones, nurses and SCs; of course there's always the exceptions. It's not worth the money, so many unhappy clients and it IS NOT fully wheel chair accessible.
