a month agoWhat an absolutely wonderful experience at Amano. They treated us so well, and really brought their A-game despite it being a Wednesday night. My wife and I had the four course dinner, which was perfectly portioned, amazingly prepared, and incredibly well explained. Each course was incredible, with the pasta taking the top spot as our favourite. Our server was awesome; attentive and really knew every dish. We relied on him for suggestions and were really happy with every one. We forgot to get his name, but it was the guy with the awesome wineglass tattoo. 10/10 for Amano, we’ll be back!

3 months agoThe service and atmosphere are top notch! The server was cool and informative. She gave us some great recommendations and it made our anniversary dinner perfect. We had the sea bass crudo which I absolutely loved. Big fan of the pickled mussels. The foccacia is a must order if you are getting pasta, the bread is soft and pillowy on the inside and perfect for sopping up that sauce. We had truffle ravioli and a shrimp pasta with black pasta. Both were terrific. We ending the night with olive oil cake which was just the right amount of sweet to end the night. It was a wonderful romantic evening.

5 months agoFood was delicious 🤤 the service was amazing. Kudos to Russell. He was so lovely. We ordered the focaccia...the best thing ever. So soft and fluffy. My husband loved the lobster risotto and the rigatoni bolognese was so flavourful and yummy. The cherry chocolate cake was also so delicious and a great end to the night. The sweet dessert wine was also very nice. Overall everything was amazing ..the service and the food. Definitely coming back.

3 months agoWe came for the 7 course pasta tasting menu! They took the time to explain each plate and the in-house made pastas were outstanding. Each plate an entirely different type of fresh pasta- lobster from east coast Canada, duck, beef cheek, carbonara, a pea/mint stuffed ravioli- each dish was a creative and unbelievable plate all on its own. I felt like a Roman Emperor dining over several hours on this feast! The ambiance of the restaurant- the decor, the artistic italian motifs created an environment that was both celebratory, intimate, and yet had a fun vibe. Bartenders, hosts, servers were all enthusiastic and happy to be there- just an all around great environment! Can’t wait to come back for another tasting menu! Would be a fun place to have a birthday dinner, a date, or sit at the bar with a cocktail for happy hour. Awesome spot! Thanks for a fantastic experience!

2 months agoI Visited Amano Trattoria during Winterlicious with a best friend--a great chance to experience their authentic Italian cuisine. Known for its fresh pasta, seasonal menu, and extensive wine list, this spot makes a lovely treat-yourself kind of night out. For us, around $100 per head. Standout dishes: 1. Beef Carpaccio and Seabass Crudo - Fresh, beautifully plated, and the highlights of the night 2. Slow Roasted Porchetta - Prosciutto-stuffed pork belly with crispy chicharron, bomba rapini, caulini, potatoes, and salsa verde. Tasted as good as it looked! 3. Desserts: Tiramisu and Dark Chocolate Brownie - both delicious and presented elegantly (just look at the photos!) Less memorable: The two pasta dishes were fresh and well made, but didn't feel particularly unique or standout compared to the rest of the menu Interior, Seating, Lighting, Pricing: Beautiful, romantic and inviting space, exactly what you'd expect from a higher-end Italian or Western restaurant. Great for treating yourself or enjoying a special meal with someone close Not a casual weeknight spot--more suited for an occasion except u have a lot of $ to spent. Overall and Tips: We really enjoyed our evening--great food, nice atmosphere. Service that night was reasonable but not outstanding--we had to flag down staff a few times. Still, it's definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and want to celebrate something or try a refined Italian dining experience. Tried Amano Trattoria before? Let me know your favourite dish--or what you'd order if you go!
