Generally liked some of the dishes here. We started with the octopus carpaccio which had chili oil that tasted exactly like lao gan ma. That chili oil is relatively affordable, so didn’t feel like the flavor belonged at this restaurant. Then a few other meat dishes like the crudo and beef tartare. Tartare may be my favorite for the evening. Well seasoned with the right amount of acidity. Crudo was okay? Also found it weird that it was 3 pieces for over 20$, small portion and made it weird for sharing. Then we had the lobster, which was a bit overcooked. Lobster came with clams and mussels which were very flavorful. Baguette was too dry. The lamb skewer was another favorite, it was the most tender lamb I’ve had, though some parts were too salty. We finished with the popular lemon meringue pie. I love lemon flavored things so this was a sweet ending to the dinner! The meringue was too sweet for me, overpowering the lemon, but if you have a sweet tooth you will really enjoy this one.

The food was delicious, beautifully presented. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional service. When our server came by to check on us, my friend casually mentioned that I usually prefer sweeter drinks. Without even being asked, she offered to change my drink and brought me one. That level of attentiveness and care really made the whole dining experience feel special. Highly recommend this place — both for the amazing food and the genuinely thoughtful staff!

We initially went for the weekend brunch and wow! One of best brunches I’ve eaten in Toronto so far. The shakshuka was amazing, literally the best I’ve ever eaten in all my life. We liked we so much we went again for the weekday lunch, tried the fried chicken again loved it. They have happy hour on Friday from 3-6, all drinks are half off which is great because we tried all the cocktails in the menu and liked them all. Last but not the least the complimentary bread and butter that they give is heavenly, I literally had to request our waiter to please get us some more. Would highly recommend this place to everyone.

TLDR: food and cocktails were great, nice atmosphere and friendly service Started with the not espresso martini with tequila, kahlua and chocolate which was super tasty and not too sweet. The chicken was nicely crisp and the classic burger was a solid and juicy burger. Andrew, our server, was very efficient and thoughtful about how we were sharing so props to him.

Follow @bredgyeats on IG for more food posts! Aloette is a place where your taste buds go to die and then are reborn. First, some complimentary pillow-soft cheese bread that warms up your soul, amazingly aromatic paired with the whipped butter. Thankfully our adventure just started. The beef tartare was a great balance of flavours, umami, sour, slight richness and fresh green pepper. The mustard seeds gave it that much-needed crunch. I had to turn the one biter into two to really enjoy it. The crispy squash is the highlight, a delicate crispy layer and a gooey interior paired with a rich hollandaise sauce and sweet pumpkins makes this extremely addicting. I almost ordered another. The burger and fries was like a quintessential, classic burger elevated. Juicy patty, fragrant brioche bun and beaufort cheese with a slight funk makes it a unctuous bite. To go out with a bang, torched meringue is wonderfully topped onto a silky smooth lemon pie. Just a perfect balance between tangy and sweet, so that you don't walk home feeling congested. The crust adds an essential crunch and overall texture to the pie, making you jump for joy for each bite.
